Francis duffour {the man behind "The Senegaulois"}

Francis discovered Senegal in 1990 whilst on a holiday trip with some of his friends , he travelled from Dakar to Cap Skirring by road and immediately fell in love with this place, and decided that his life could be here , he returned to France with a life changing project in mind.

In 1992 Francis return to Cap Skirring for good with his friend Jacqy Louis , He purchased a piece of land from a local Diola family. He then set to work planning and building "Le Senegaulois". It took him five years to achieve his dream and now he wants to share it with you.

Today Francis has decided to lived here full time , he is now regarded as a local figure in le Cap Skirring, and won’t be afraid to sing you a song on your arrival ,specially if you buy him a drink!.

Francis is not the hotel management , but he keep an eye on everything to make sure your trip is the best it can possibly be.

Not only a great Guy but also a great guide and entertainer, Francis will take time to show you the sights, smells and sounds of his part of SENEGAL

You my end up going out with him on the night , be prepared it is worth it.

Anne marie hurteaud{annie, la tata}      

Annie is the sister of francis , she discover Senegal around 1995 and helped Francis to finish the construction of the hotel ,she lives at the Hotel most of the year and is responsible for your entertainment and comfort

 Annie is a charactor , What you see is what you get!!! as the English would say! , With a big heart Annie will always go out of her way to help ......as long as you ask nicely!. Annie is a former nurse and is also the local Doctor taking care of all the Children.

Surf casting fishing is her religion , she knows all the best places and catches all the best fish, much to the dismay of our visitors, very dedicated you will find her fishing every afternoon.

She will look after you during your stay and loves to keep contact after your return home.

Annie is also a great cook ,she prepares the best meals , my favorite cook , there is that great social ambiance in the place when she organizes an evening at " Le Senegaulois"

Francis and Annie are my uncle and aunty, I discovered Senegal in 1992 where I was in the French army for almost 3 years based at Dakar, during this time i frequently visited Francis at Caps Skirring and had a great time with my army friends, Francis also came to Dakar on business and frequently stayed in my flat in town where we always had a good time.

At the end of my contract Francis proposed that I somehow I get involved in the project which I jumped at the chance. I threw everything that I had into the business and tried my hardest to make it work. After two years I moved back to France and It broke my heart to leave the place. I now live in England and am again involved with Le Senegaulois as the European contact for anybody who wants information. But be warned Senegal is my passion and once I start I can talk about the Country all day long. So please feel free to contact me, my number is on the contacts page. I can give you all sorts of tips and Info such as, health worries, weather, Fishing tips, Travel etc etc.

I really hope we meet sometime and you meet my family in Caps Skirring, one thing is for sure you will never forget you time at "Le Senegaulois"
